The seller, 54-year-old Dennis Lichtenwalner, drove the machine around to show that it worked. Heiney made payments totaling $2,500 before he was suddenly unable to reach Lichtenwalner .
Officer Peter Nickischer says it turned out the backhoe actually belongs to a business owner at the property where Heiney looked at it. He says police are looking for Lichtenwalner, whose last known address was in Allentown. A warrant has been issued for his arrest on theft and related charges.
