Deadly Pa. Turnpike accident

LIONVILLE, Pa. - November 24, 2008 On Sunday night, just after 7:00 p.m., an accident occurred eastbound on the Pennsylvania Turnpike at mile marker 314 which is 2 miles east of the Downingtown interchange.

Police closed all eastbound lanes and did not reopen them until 10:30 p.m.

Turnpike police tell Action News that there was a 3 vehicle accident that occurred in the eastbound lanes and two people were pronounced dead at the scene.

There is an extensive investigation that is ongoing to see how the accident happened.
