Arrest made in playground murder

PHILADELPHIA - December 1, 2008 19-year-old Kareem Savage, from 29th and Thompson Streets, has been arrested and charged with 2 counts of murder.

Police say Savage, and another unidentified man, opened fire at a playground in Mantua on September 11th.

42-year-old Miles Mack was shot and killed while handing out basketball trophies after a local league game.

19-year-old Darren Hankins was also killed. Four other people were wounded.

Police say Savage was also wanted for another murder he allegedly committed in July.

His alleged accomplice at the playground shooting has not been caught.
