Emergency landing for Philly flight

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - December 3, 2008 - Flight 1417 was en route to Los Angeles from Philadelphia with 191 passengers and seven crew members when the flight crew shut down the engine Tuesday.

Airport assistant director of operations and maintenance John McGinley says the plane landed safely at 12:05 p.m. and taxied to a gate on its own power.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the mechanical problem was not immediately known.

McGinley says passengers were rebooked onto other flights.
