30 dogs, 1 dead puppy removed from Pa. home

DUQUESNE, Pa. (AP) - December 6, 2008 Katie Waters, an investigator for Ohio Township-based Animal Friends of Ohio Township, says many of the dogs found in the Duquesne home have severe injuries. She says the injuries appear to have been inflicted by other dogs.

Paul McIntyre, chief of Triangle Pet Control Service Co. of McKees Rocks, describes the puppy as "chewed up." He and assistant Duquesne police chief Scott Adams say they are investigating whether dogfighting was going on at the home.

The pit bulls are being treated at the Triangle Pet Control facilities, and officials say all are expected to survive.
