Trees for Troops

KULPSVILLE, Pa. - December 6, 2008 The Bustard Family has been a Christmas fixture in Montgomery County since Franklin Delano Roosevelt was President.

While times have changed, the holiday spirit has not.

The Bustard family has donated 50 Christmas trees to military families as part of the Trees for Troops charity program.

"It's hard to being overseas or having members of your family being overseas at Christmas time. It just seemed something that we felt was right and kind of hit our hearts," Jay Bustard of Kulpsville, Pa. said.

"Men and women are supporting our country and we need to support them, too," Glen Bustard said.

The Bustards have been involved with Trees for Troops for 3 years now.

While his company is known for donating, so are many of his customers.

"We have a bunch of them coming back saying you involved again, right? Yeah we're doing it," Jay said.

The Bustards say about 40 families have donated trees at the location in Kulpsville. Many have of them have greetings cards with words that express love and appreciation.

FedEx ships the trees for free, as part of its donation to the program.

The program that is helping make this a special Christmas for the men and women who serve our country.
