Couple creates savings website for young families

WOOLWICH TWP., New Jersey - December 31, 2008

Jen's own efforts to save money by comparison-shopping online led the couple, who are both educators, to create a family-oriented money-saving website called icareforfamilies.com .

Anyone can use the website for free to save money while shopping online. The website has links to about 500 online retailers, who provide special discount codes for website users.

Members of the website's Advantage Savings Program -- who pay $29 a year -- get the online savings, plus access to printable coupons for 200,000 merchants nationwide.

Members of the Advantage Plus Program -- who pay $49 a year -- get the online and store savings, plus tuition discounts at 100 member daycare centers in the Tri-State area.

The website also has one of the most extensive nationwide lists of state-licensed daycare centers, that anyone can access free-of-charge.

Members who shop using the website also get rebates on their purchases. They can either take these rebates in the form of a check, or they use them toward paying tuition at member daycare centers.

So far, the website has about 600 members.
