Firefighters in Deptford battled a fire Monday night at a fire station. Flames broke out around 10:15 at the New Sharon Volunteer Fire Station #1, located along the 1800 block of Delsea Drive.

Fire crews battled heavy fire and thick smoke in an attempt to safely remove the fire apparatus. No word yet if that apparatus was removed without damage.

The fire was declared under control at 10:42 p.m.

Deptford has seven other fire stations, all of which will chip in to cover at least temporary loss of this fire station.

There are no reports of injuries from the fire.

Investigators are still trying to determine a cause.
