4th grader contracts meningitis

A 4th grader from Montgomery County is hospitalized with an infection from bacterial meningitis.

The boy is a student a Knapp Elementary school in the North Penn School District. He is currently at Children's Hospital.

The county health department is advising anyone who had close contact with the boy to get preventive antibiotics.

Meningococcal infections can cause fever, headaches, a stiff neck, extreme sluggishness, and a rash.
