Son from prominent family alleges abuse by teacher

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - December 11, 2008 His attorney says Kermit Justice Jr. was abused by John James Fleming, a convicted sex offender, who worked as a teacher and wrestling coach at St. Edmond's Academy in the 1980s.

Joelle Casteix of SNAP, the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests, says after learning about the allegations years ago, the school simply let Fleming resign instead of contacting authorities. School Headmaster Michael Marinelli says the school is a safe place.
