Heavy rain causes some flooding in NJ

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - December 12, 2008

Temperatures around the state mostly stayed well above freezing, sparing motorists an icy ride to work.

But several inches of rain have caused flooding.

The National Weather Service has extended a flood warning for northern Burlington, Camden and Gloucester counties.

A winter storm watch remains in effect for Sussex County. Forecasters say freezing rain could turn to sleet or snow as colder air moves in later Friday.

The colder air could also produce snow showers throughout the state during the afternoon.
