Foam floods airport hangar

LONG BEACH, Calif. (AP) - December 12, 2008 Thousands of gallons of firefighting foam filled a hangar at the Long Beach, Calif., airport, covering a police helicopter and service vehicles.

Officials say a technician accidentally set off the fire suppression system.

Clean-up crews have been using high-powered vacuums to remove the tidal wave of bubbles.

They hope to get all the foam out today. But officials don't know if the chopper and the other equipment may have been damaged by their bubble bath.
