Resolve to give up bottled water to save money

January 6, 2009

But if you drink bottled water, that can really add up.

Bottled water is not only expensive, all those plastic bottles head into the trash stream and aren't good for the environment.

That's why there's a campaign that started a few years back to encourage people to give up bottled water and drink tap water instead. It's called the "Tappening" campaign.

And the organizers say regular bottled water drinkers can save upwards of $1400 a year by switching to reuseable bottles and tap water.

They sell bottles on their website, but say the proceeds go back into the campaign. In any case, you don't have to buy their bottles to make the switch and it can be a real money-saver.

For more information, go to the Tappening website.
