Philadelphia Fire crews responded, shut down the sprinkler system and launched a clean up, which included water on the sidewalk and roadway.
The malfunction occurred around 3pm.
Airport officials say ticketing operations at Air Tran were not impacted as a result.
No word yet what caused the malfunction.
