Philadelphia Police are investigating an overnight shooting in Tioga-Nicetown that has left a man in critical condition after being shot in the chest. Authorities tell Action News that incident started at the TGI Fridays on City Avenue in Wynnefield when the 36-year-old victim met a female inside of the restaurant earlier tonight.

The couple left in separate vehicles and went to a home near 19th and Erie Streets around 1:00 a.m. where the female reportedly lived because the woman had to run inside to get something.

The man and woman then left and headed to a residence in the 3700 block of Bouvier Street and were inside of the victim's Pontiac Grand Am when at least two gunmen came up to the car and tried to rob the male.

A scuffle occurred and the gunman fired several shots at the male striking him once in the chest. Police say the victim was robbed, as well.

The victim drove away from the scene and headed towards Temple Hospital and called 911 on the way to notify police.

There are no arrests as of yet.
