Del. man charged with firing in direction of 4

MILTON, Del. (AP) - January 3, 2009 It happened around 1:30 p.m. Friday in a private field along Graves Farm Road.

Police say 48-year-old Mark Beimers used a cardboard box to set up a makeshift target in the field and began firing at the target with a .22 caliber Ruger pistol.

Cpl. Bruce Harris says four people in the field scattered and yelled at Beimers to stop firing. When Beimers left, they got registration information from his truck and passed it along to police.

Police stopped Beimers along Del. 16. Beimers was arrested and charged with four counts of reckless endangering, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and driving under the influence. He's being held at Sussex Correctional Institution on $10,500 secured bail.
