PHILADELPHIA (AP) - January 3, 2009 Kimmani Barrett added 16 points for La Salle (8-5), which connected on 33 of 53 shots in the game. Eugene Myatt had 19 points and Chris McHenry 18 for Howard, now 1-12 after winning its season opener against Oregon State and losing every game since.

The Explorers hit on 11 of their first 13 shots in jumping out to a 24-17 lead. La Salle, with eight players scoring, hit on 15 of 24 shots in the first half in taking a 34-22 lead, while Howard connected on only 9 of 29.

The Bison closed to within 41-33 on a 3-point shot by Kyle Riley with 14:28 left to play, but La Salle went on a 15-8 run and was not threatened again.
