Corzine said Friday that the state now has a $2.1 billion deficit for the current fiscal year - which began last July. That's even after an earlier round of $600 million in cuts.
Also last week, he listed some of his proposals for cuts, including reducing the state's payment to a pension fund, trimming school and municipal aid and delaying installation of paper printers on the state's touch-screen voting machines.
State Republican leaders are suing Corzine, claiming he has not been as forthcoming as the law requires about state financial details.
