Gas prices dip a penny in Delaware

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - January 5, 2009 AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price for a gallon of regular in Delaware is $1.55, a decrease of just one cent a gallon from last week. The national average price last week was $1.66 a gallon.

The auto club warns that there's renewed talk in Washington of increasing federal fuel taxes. Those increases could be used to fund part of President-elect Barack Obama's planned economic stimulus package.

Until those tax increases become a reality, AAA is predicting prices at the pump nationally could fall below $1.50 a gallon by the end of February.
