Suburban constable removed by judge

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) - January 5, 2009 Montgomery County Judge Paul Tressler signed an order last week removing /*Michael Solow*/ from office as West Conshohocken's constable.

Prosecutors had sought Solow's removal for a series of incidents that included the improper eviction of a family and the warrantless search of another residence.

Constables serve legal papers, transport prisoners and perform other duties for district courts.

Montgomery County Assistant District Attorney Anthony Gil said Monday that Solow's history of improper acts goes back to the 1990s.

A phone message left for Solow's Norristown lawyer, John McMahon Jr., wasn't immediately returned.
