Feasterville consignment shop offers big names, small prices

Jill Gelb and Stacie Pansky are best friends, who've both worked in the fashion industry for years.

Late last year, they decided to go into business for themselves. A consignment shop seemed the logical choice. So, they opened the Butterfly Boutique.

Gelb explains, " We really wanted to get into something that would be good for the times. We felt like opening a little boutique in this economy wasn't the best way to go."

Pansky adds, "We are literally having people walk in after driving up and down Street Road with clothes in their cars. It's a sign of the times, the economy being what it is."

The Butterfly Boutique mainly accepts consignments of women's and juniors clothes and accessories. They do have a few men's items and they also get new, out-of-season leftovers from local boutiques.

Prices can be up to 90% off regular retail.

A jeweled-collar blue blouse still has the $170 price tag on it. It's selling for $35.

True Religion jeans were $325. At the Butterfly Boutique, they're $45.

Juicy Couture jeans are $30 and a Juicy t-shirt is just $10.

The women are selective about what they'll take to sell. Items need to be clean, from a known designer, and sellable.

The Butterfly Boutique is located at 31 East Street Road, in Feasterville, Pa. The phone number is 215-355-2210. The store doesn't yet have a website, but you can email questions about consigning your clothes to butterflyconsign@aol.com. Hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
