The Cambria County judge scheduled the hearing because prosecutors say Andy Swartzentruber has not corrected sewage issues on his property in Barr Township.
The county objected because waste from grade-schoolers was collected in buckets and dumped onto fields. The county wanted the Amish to meet state regulations by installing a holding tank and hiring a sewage hauler.
Both sides tried to craft a solution that wouldn't offend this particularly strict Amish sect's concerns about using modern technology, but that hasn't happened.
An attorney for the Amish man could not immediately be reached Tuesday.
