While countless companies across the country are facing layoffs, the FBI has posted openings for 850 special agents and more than 2,000 support personnel.
A spokesman said they are looking for professionals in a wide variety of fields with a desire to protect the nation.
The job openings come after a wave of retirements at the bureau and not from growing government appropriations.
