Man sets "No Smoking" sign on fire

MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) - January 8, 2009

Officers in Medford charge William Gary Wahl set a "No Smoking" sign on fire.

Witnesses told police a bouncer had told Wahl he couldn't smoke inside The Office nightclub because of the state's new anti-smoking law.

Police say Wahl went into the restroom to smoke and the bouncer followed.

That's when police say Wahl put his lighter to the "No Smoking" sign.

Wahl's been charged with reckless burning and disorderly conduct.
