Police: Burglaries solved with DNA evidence

CLAYMONT, Del. - January 8, 2009 - The crime happened in February, 2007. Police were called to two burglaries in the same week at Silverside Liquors in Wilmington.

Police believe on both occasions the suspect, 28-year-old Robert Kleb, used a brick to damage the front glass window of the store to get inside to steal cigarettes and alcohol.

During one of the crimes, police say Kleb apparently cut himself, leaving blood at the scene.

That blood was collected, and police say they made a DNA match to Kleb.

Kleb is currently being held on unrelated charges.
