2 rescued from Pottstown apt. fire

A fast moving fire ripped through an apartment in Montgomery County overnight. Flames first broke out around 3:00 a.m. on East 2nd Street in Pottstown.

2 people had to be rescued from the burning converted apartment house.

7 people in all were displaced because of the fire. The Red Cross has been called in to help assist the displaced residents.

The fire marshal said that an unattended candle caused the fire.

No injuries were reported.
