Flames burst through the roof of a historic house in Bridgeton Cumberland County early this morning. Firefighters were called around 3:00 a.m. to the 100 block of North Laurel Street in Bridgeton.

The fire was located in a historic section of Bridgeton. The house was reportedly vacant.

The fire went to 3 alarms as fire companies struggled to get the blaze under control. The fire was brought under control just before 5:00.

According to the Bridgeton Fire Captain the building is completely destroyed and will be torn down.

Because the building was vacant and boarded up at the time of the blaze, the fire has been ruled suspicious until the investigation is complete.
