Man killed in W. Philly home invasion

Philadelphia police are searching for 5 armed men who forced their way into a home overnight and shot and killed a man. The incident occurred around 1:00 a.m. when the men armed with guns forced their way into a residence in the 700 block of North 42nd Street and attempted to rob the residents inside of the home.

During the home invasion the gunman took a 30-year-old male occupant down to the basement and tied him up then shot him in the head. Medics pronounced that man dead in the home.

Police are questioning several people about the incident.
