Suspected drug tunnels found
MEXICO CITY (AP) - January 20, 2009 Mexico's Public Security Department says two of the tunnels ran
beneath the U.S.-Mexico border. One of those still had wood boards
and the other was lined with cement.
Officials say the third was about 7 meters long and appeared to
have no exit.
The department on Tuesday did not say when the tunnels were
found.
Dozens of tunnels believed built by Mexican drug cartels have
been found along the U.S.-Mexico border in recent years, many of
them incomplete.
