Officer charged with bat attack on car

State police say a township police officer from central Pennsylvania used a baseball bat to smash the car of a pizza shop worker. Logan Township police officer William Kudlawiec has been on paid leave since the incident was reported Dec. 29. He was charged by state police on Wednesday.

State police say the officer was off duty when he followed the pizza worker after he closed up shop. When the worker stopped his car, police say the officer smashed the other man's car with a bat.

The officer's attorney says the case boils down to one man's word against the other and he doubts police can prove the charges.

Police say the men have feuded since they fought at the pizza shop in October 2007.
