Police report it happened just before 1 a.m. near the intersection of Frankford Avenue and Vista Street in Northeast Philadelphia.
Officers rushed the victim to Nazareth Hospital in critical condition. Then doctors decided he needed to be flown to Temple Hospital.
So far investigators have no word a suspect or a motive.
