Manager charged in "Lipstick Jungle" thefts

NEW YORK - January 25, 2009 Arthur Moreira was arrested Friday after investigators posing as buyers found some of the missing costumes at his Brooklyn apartment.

Authorities were originally alerted after an employee of Paris fashion designer Sylvia Toledano saw a handbag that had been loaned to the show for sale on the Internet.

Prosecutors say Moreira also took coats, bags and suits by Burberry, Prada, Gucci, Fendi and Dolce & Gabbana. Authorities say the 16 items were worth about $30,000.

Moreira was scheduled to be arraigned Saturday. It was unclear whether he had an attorney.
