Watch new releases for $1 (Or free!)

February 23, 2009

You may have noticed RedBox video vending machines popping up at supermarkets, McDonalds, and other commonly-visited places.

Each machine holds up to 700 dvd's, including up to 200 recently-released titles.

At the machines, you can rent movies, charge them to a credit card, and pay just $1 a day.

Every Tuesday, when new movies are released to DVD, the selections in the machines are changed.

You can reserve titles you want by going to Red Box's website... Or just pick out a movie at the machine.

They're sorted by title, genre or release dates.

And here's how you can get your choice of movies for free. If you join Red Box's text message club, they'll text you a promo code each Monday that you can use for a free one-night rental.

Even if you don't take advantage of the freebies, RedBox rentals can be a good deal -- as long as you remember to return them quickly.
