Economy takes big bite from big game

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - January 29, 2009

But maybe not quite as big as in the past.

The slumping economy is hitting the Super Bowl like a Steelers' linebacker.

The prices are lower for commercials airing during the Pittsburgh-Arizona match-up.

Even so, General Motors and FedEx are among the companies pulling their ads.

Playboy has canceled its annual party.

Even game tickets are less expensive this year.

The cheap seats in Tampa are 500 bucks instead 700 for last year's Super Bowl.
