When authorities arrived, the child was found unresponsive and taken to the Al DuPont Hospital for Children where she was pronounced dead.
Police say the girl was staying at the motel with her mother and her mother's boyfriend, and add both were present when the call for help was made.
Authorities are unsure if foul play was involved. An autopsy is planned.
