Officer injured while helping driver

WASHINGTON CROSSING, Pa. - February 4, 2009 - Authorities say it happened around 12:30 p.m. on Taylorsville Road near Washington Crossing Road.

Details are sketchy, however Action News has learned the officer, 28-year-old Robert Fuchs, had to jump over a guard rail and fell down a ravine.

Fuchs was taken to St. Mary Medical Center.

He suffered extensive bruising and rib injuries.

Fuchs is a three year veteran of the force.
