Error in Super Bowl proclamation fixed

PITTSBURGH (AP) - February 11, 2009

The proclamation noted the 27-23 win over the Arizona Cardinals featured the first safety in a Super Bowl. The Cardinals scored two points when a Steelers offensive lineman was called for holding while quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was in the end zone.

Fans who wanted to frame the proclamation were annoyed by the gaffe - especially since the Steelers were responsible for the first safety in a Super Bowl.

Dwight White scored the first Steelers points in Super Bowl history when he downed Minnesota Vikings quarterback Fran Tarkenton who recovered a fumble in his own end zone during Super Bowl IX.
