Man loses fight against extradition

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (AP) - February 15, 2009 A judge has ordered that 46-year-old Shawn Southerland be returned to New York City. Authorities have obtained a second-degree homicide warrant against him in the April 2007 death of his girlfriend, Christie Neely.

Southerland had been working as a golf caddy at the Philadelphia Cricket Club in Whitemarsh, Montgomery County.

A New York Transportation Department employee discovered Neely's body stuffed in a travel bag under a highway overpass in April 2007. Investigators believe she was strangled in her Bayonne, N.J., home.
