Homeless man's family finds him in 'Tent City'

CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) - February 15, 2009 Neal Floyd had been sleeping under a tarp in Camden's "Tent City."

The 53-year-old former truck driver from Paulsboro, a father of three grown daughters, was interviewed and photographed in a Jan. 28 story by The Associated Press about a statewide effort to count New Jersey's homeless.

Last weekend, Floyd's sister, Yolanda Shorts, was on her computer and saw the photo of him lighting a fire by his tent.

Shorts decided to round up other family members and drive to Camden. They arrived Friday morning and found him in his tent.

Family members say they'll take Floyd with them back to North Carolina to start anew.
