Not too happy with this tax

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - February 16, 2009

Paterson is proposing to tax downloads of music and software.

State officials confirm to the AP the tax would also apply to porn downloads and skin flicks on pay-per-view TV.

But some people aren't too hot on taxing steamy Web sites.

Michael Long, chairman of New York's Conservative Party, says taxing pornography legitimizes it.

He adds that sort of official recognition of X-rated material sends the wrong message to teenagers.
