Ocean City eyes boardwalk cameras

OCEAN CITY, N.J. (AP) - February 17, 2009 They've taken the request to city council after a vandalism spree last month damaged several of their shops.

City Council President Scott Ping says the cameras could make sense in a time when the city can't afford to have as many police officers on the street.

But, he says there's one problem: It's not clear whether Ocean City has enough money for them.

Another Jersey Shore resort is also planning to install cameras. Wildwood's project would cost $380,000.
