Crafters of all kinds to swap supplies

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA - February 20, 2009

But they all say it's hard to throw away old material or buttons or yarn.

And constantly buying new supplies can get expensive.

That's why they're all excited about this Saturday's Craft Swap.

For just five dollars, they (and you, if you're interested) can enjoy refreshments and work out trades. It's a chance to get rid of things you're done with and pick up items you can use.

Megan Haupt of the Philadelphia Sewing Collective explains that a person with left-over yarn might work out a swap with another person who has different yarn, or craft magazines.

The swap will take place at the Mew Gallery (906 Christian Street) from 1:30 to 4:30 on Saturday, February 21, 2009.

The organizers expect the crafters to exchange tips and ideas, along with their supplies.

Items expected at the swap include yarn, fabric, knitting and crochet needles, buttons, zippers, trim, patterns, beads, jewelry-making supplies and more.

Space is limited. So, if you're interested, call Mew Gallery at 215-625-2727 or email mewgallery@yahoo.com. For more information, click here.
