Mayor Michael Nutter and Commissioner Charles Ramsey tell Action News they can't believe they have to bury another officer.

Pawlowski was the sixth officer killed in the line of duty within the last 16 months.

A public viewing began just before 6:00. A few hours beforehand, hundreds of officers marched down Academy Road. Pawlowski's wife Kim stood by, surrounded by family.

Her grief was clearly evident.

John Pawlowki's father, a retired lieutenant, and his brother Robert, a corporal in police radio, embraced as the procession went by.

Robert was working when his brother was shot, and heard the call come in.

The funeral for Officer Pawlowski will be held Friday. Services will take place at The Cathedral Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul at 1723 Race Street.

The viewing is scheduled for 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 12 Noon.

Interment following services will take place at Resurrection Cemetery at 5201 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, Pa. 19020.
