SAN DIEGO - February 20, 2009 - The agency said Thursday that the drugs were found in nine
duffel bags off a remote stretch of highway in Jacumba, about 75
miles east of San Diego. The route is popular with traffickers
bringing drugs into the U.S.
The precocious pooch was described as a 2-year-old male German
shepherd.
Agents arrested two suspected illegal immigrants who allegedly
brought the drugs across the border.
The marijuana is estimated to have a street value of about
$380,000.
