The reasons for the downed wires is not clear at the present time.
In addition to area residents losing power, a stretch of the business community, including the Shoprite and a McDonald's along Oregon Avenue lost service, too.
PECO expects restored power to all customers around 7:00 p.m.
The repair involves switching lines.
The incident began shortly after 5:00 p.m.
