A pickup truck traveling on South Union Church Road early Saturday went off the road, hit a row of trees, then began to rotate.
Police say driver 24-year-old Carlos Garcia Ortiz was thrown from the truck before it went back off the right side of the road and into a ditch. His passenger, 40-year-old Laura Rosario of Ellendale was declared dead at the scene.
Police say when Garcia is released from Milford Memorial Hospital, he will be charged with vehicular homicide, driving under the influence and having no license or proof of insurance.
