NJ lottery sales slump

In a bad economy, everyone could use a little luck, right? Not so in New Jersey, where fewer people are taking chances by spending money on lottery tickets.

Ticket revenue for the first six months of the current fiscal year is down. According to the state Treasury Department, New Jersey received nearly $4 million - or about 1 percent - less than an anticipated.
