Investigators say 22-year-old Linsey Adams of Middletown, Delaware and 25-year-old Michelle Gaeger of Newark, Delaware, took their 1, 3, and 8 year old children with them into the store.
Police say the women removed several pairs of shoes from display and put some in a baby carriage, some in a bag, and one pair was put on the feet of one of the children.
Officers learned that Michelle Gaeger had also shoplifted at JC Penney store just before coming to Sears, and police say Gaeger had multiple prescription pills in her posession illegally. A computer check revealed she was also wanted by the New Castle County Family Court.
Police say both were placed into custody and were being escorted out of Sears when Adams threw a drink at the arresting officer.
Gaeger was charged with two counts of Shoplifting, two counts of Possession of Narcotics, three counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Conspiracy.
During arraignment, Gaeger was ordered remanded to the Baylor Woman's Correctional Institute in lieu of a $4,500.00 unsecured bond and a $4,000.00 secured bond.
Linsey Adams was formally charged with Offensive Touching of a Law Enforcement Officer Conspiracy, Shoplifting and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. She was released after posting a $3,000.00 secured bond.
