It's a bird ... it's a plane ... no, it's a really expensive Superman comic.

An original copy of the comic book that launched the Man of Steel is for sale.

Action Comics No. 1 introduced the world to Superman in 1938.

It cost a dime back then.

Now?

Well, the sky's the limit for Superman.

Comic book expert Stephen Fishler says that issue in "fine" condition is worth about $126,000.

But this example could go for several times that amount.

Metropolis Collectibles will put the comic up for an online auction beginning tomorrow.

The current owner isn't identified.

He or she bought it for 35 cents in 1950 and has held onto it for 58 years.
