Teenagers rob woman at gunpoint

New Castle County, Del. - March 1, 2009 On Saturday at 1:51 p.m., New Castle County Police responded to a residence in unit block of Gazelle Place, in the community of Llangollen Green, for a report of an armed robbery that just occurred. When police arrived, they contacted the female victim who reported she was just robbed at gunpoint by three men.

The investigation has revealed the victim received a phone call from a male acquaintance earlier in the day. The two agreed that he would stop by her residence later to "hang out." When he arrived at the victim's home, he was with two other men who were not immediately known to the victim. While they were all talking, one of the unknown men (seated in the back seat) brandished a handgun and pointed it at the victim while demanding she relinquish her prescription medication.

The victim gave the gunman her prescription drugs as he turned the gun on the occupants of the vehicle and apparently forced them to drive off. The victim then called 911 as her male acquaintance called her back to check to see how she was doing. Not knowing she had already called police, he told her they were currently at a home in Tuxedo Park. Police then responded to the home and arrested the two men who were originally in the front seats of the car.

The man in the back seat was located walking in the area and was also taken into custody. A police canine searched the immediately area, where the suspect was walking, and found a "Colt" style BB gun on the ground. All three men were arrested after police determined they had all conspired to rob the victim of her pills.

The three men have been charged with robbery in the first degree, conspiracy, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Christopher Morris, a 19-year-old male from Wilmington, was released from custody after he posted $9,000 secured bail.

Richard Igo, a 19-year-old male from Wilmington, was committed to the Howard Young Prison after failing to post $9,000 secured bail.

Matthew Dennis Hughes, a 19-year-old male from Bear, Delaware, was also charged with aggravated menacing (he was the gunman). He was committed to the Howard Young Prison after failing to post $13,000 secured bail.
